Sunday, April 28th, 2019 we had a worse blizzard than we had all winter. White out conditions all day. Monday morning we woke up to 5 foot snow banks in places and drifts in the orchards about 3 feet deep. It will be a few days before orchard work resumes!

2019 BERRY SEASON IS OFF TO A GREAT START!

April 17, 2019

Hope you all survived the winter! The dugouts have filled and there is adequate soil moisture after about 3/10 of rain last night. All trees and fruits are looking good to go. I have lots to do before berry season!

Thanks to my son Nolan for helping me get this new website up and running. I hope that you all find it more user friendly. I’ll post updates in my Journal periodically so check back often or check the Bouvier’s Berry Basket FB page to find out the latest happenings in the orchard.

Here is a guideline of APPROXIMATELY when fruits ripen most years:

Haskaps - mid June

Strawberries - around July 1st

Saskatoons - First week of July

Raspberries - mid July

Cherries - last week of July or August long weekend depending on variety

Apples - mid August to mid September depending on variety
